So I found a completely beautiful dress! The style, fit, and price are perfect! The only problem… it’s purple. As much as I support the right of brides to wear any color they want.. i would like a while or off-white dress.
Have you seen a dress similar in style to this one? From this designer or any others? As an fyi my budget is under $1K for a dress.

Hi vyeta, the dress you posted about it is so pretty!
I wore a similar style (made by Casablanca) that I wanted to show you, though it doesn’t have the draping neck. It fits in your budget and has some similar features. It’s made of silky taffeta and it comes in ivory or white.
Good luck with your dress search. 🙂

What a gorgeous dress! One other option you might want to look into is finding a seamstress who can copy the dress and make it for you from scratch based on the photos. For my MOH’s dress, we took a photo of a dress she liked to a seamstress with the fabric I’d chosen and she made it based on the photo. It turned out great! In many ways, it might turn out to be cheaper than getting a ready-made and you have a lot more control over fabric, etc.

You might be able to find a seamstress that can make a copy. I was going to do that before I found a dress on clearance and well for me budget (aka steal of a dress) trumps dream dress copycat. The seamstress I was going to have do work for me was a recommendation from three local bridal salons. Call around and ask for recommendations. Good luck!

What are the features of the dress that you really like? And is there anything you’d change on it (besides the color)? That could help in pinpointing similar wedding gowns with the features you desire.
Other than that, I definitely agree that it could be worth talking to a seamstress about recreating the dress for you!

Has anyone used a seamstress in the NYC area whom you’ve really liked?
