I’ve been married for almost 4 months now (loving it) but I put on a couple pounds 🙁 I want to be bikini ready for our honeymoon in august, so yesterday I started doing the jilian michaels 30 day shred video and I am feeling really sore today. I am not really doing a strict diet along with it, I am drinking more water, no fast food, only diet soda, but I am eating regularly what I eat just cutting out the junk..
curious to hear about any results with the video/workout

I did it for a few weeks. It killed but I lost like 3 pounds the first week. I stopped doing it because we started walking and swimming now that the weather’s warm but it definitely worked.

I have 5 JM tapes and 30 Day Shred is my least favorite. I like Ripped in 30 better and kick boxing is a good work out too. I’m not one who does the same work out every day either though…That gets too boring for me.

I just got that one about a month ago and so far it’s working great!

@pandaboo: I was curious too if the JM dvds worked and were enjoyable/tolerable. My honey is the one that wants to shed a few pounds for the wedding and he is “dieting” similar to you. I would approach diet soda with caution though. The fake sugars they use haven’t been around long enough to know the long term affects. A friend of mine got really dependant on Diet Coke and they actually started giving her serious migraines so she had to “quit.” Also, when you consume artificial sweeteners, it doesn’t get rid of your craving for sweets. (Getting rid of or lowering your sugar cravings is IMO much more beneficial).
At the same time, I don’t know how often you drink diet soda… I just wanted to caution you against drinking more than 1 or 2 a day (the migraine friend was drinking 4 on average. yikes.) Just wanted to give you something to think about!

30 Day Shred is one of my favorite JM DVDs. Even know when I’m in pretty good shape it gives me a good workout, I just combine the segments. It’s hard for beginners but totally worth it. I’m not crazy about Ribbed in 30 and I also really like No More Trouble Zones.

Thanks for all the replies ladies. I just completed my 3rd workout today and I am loving it (no results yet haha obviously) but i am feeling so much more energetic and I even did a little 10 mins run in my neighborhood after the video.
@WoodenShoes: thanks for the advice. 🙂 wow 4 a day!! that’s a lot ! I drink 1 diet coke a day or 1 sugar free redbull I know it’s not the best for you but I need some caffeine in my life haha maybe in the future i won’t be so dependent. and as for your husband, my hubby did the first workout with me on the 30 day shred and it even worked him out and he’s more in shape than I am (he plays basketball with his friends a lot, 2-3 times a week) except now he’s taken a break since he broke his finger 🙁 but I’d recommend it to men too. I do it with the 5lb dumbbells but he could probably do it with the 10-15 lbs? I heard that for her workout in the 30 day shred you shouldn’t do it with too much weight. I saw 3 to 8 lbs for women.. not sure for men, I’m just guessing. but I would definetely recommend it. the first time is tough and the second time too but today I just did it for the third time and I feel like my body is getting more tolerant of the workout. I am excited to see the results ! 🙂
