fridakahlo :  Oh man.  Please don’t use those things!  It’s even recommended not to use the home dopplers because they can cause unneccesary panic.  Put it away and breathe, Mama <3

Agree with PP. Your father in law shouldn’t be encouraging you to be using an APP(!!!) To monitor your baby when he’s a doctor. Best of luck and update please.

Oh yikes. Don’t use those apps! If you want to monitor at home, get a doppler. I use a Sonoline B.

Honestly they say finding a heartbeat on a Doppler at 14 weeks is questionable I’ve been told (by a doctor). The baby is still so small that it could easily have just moved too far away to register. Regarding weight gain/symptoms, at 14 weeks I had lost a couple pounds and didn’t get back to normal weight/start gaining weight until 17-18 weeks, which my doctor said was totally normal. Symptoms always come and go, and like you said they usually change around 12 weeks.

Good luck with the ultrasound! Put the app away after this!

I am pleased to see your update. Do yourself a favour and don’t use those apps. The recommendation here in the UK is that you don’t even use a doppler as a heartbeat doesn’t necessarily mean a healthy baby or you can actually pick up your own heartbeat. Leave it to the professionals.

fridakahlo :  Glad babe is healthy and growing well. Just because you didn’t struggle to get pregnant or have a loss, doesn’t mean that you’re not entitled to worry. You’re going to be a parent, worrying sometimes comes with the territory! I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that everything is going well!

I’m glad everything is OK, OP! You need to keep reminding yourself that just because you didnt struggle to create this baby, doesnt mean you don’t deserve it! Enjoy your symptom-free times and you last few months of normalcy!

Glad to hear everything looks good! Definitely cancel the app! I understand the worry, I’m naturally a slightly anxious person, and pregnancy hormones made it wayyyy worse. Physically I had a great pregnancy, but I worried about every little thing. It’s tough. Don’t add to your stress! Good luck!
