So we put down $1000 deposit on our photographer back in October for our wedding in Oct 2012. I emailed her Saturday about the engagement session being replaced with a boudoir session (I’m so sneaky, haha) and a few details about hammering out exact times now that we have the church nailed down. Only thing is… I haven’t heard back. It’s been five days since I emailed, and I looked at her business’s Facebook page today and it hasn’t been updated since November 28. I’m starting to panic. I know that 5 days isn’t super long, but along with the lack of updates and that I haven’t spoken with her since October, I’m starting to get really freaked out that maybe she went out of business, died, something. What should I do? How long should I wait to contact again?

Call her. A lot of vendors respond to phone calls much more quickly than email.

@greenmachine838: Could it be that she’s taking a bit of a break in the wedding “off season”?
I’d give her a week or so to respond and then maybe try giving a call if you have her number?
Did you ahve a date set for the engagement photo session yet? Or were you just talking about scheduling it?
I wouldn’t panic *quite* yet she could be taking a little break over the holidays and new year.

That’s kind of what I was hoping, but the facebook thing is making me anxious. We decided not to do an engagement session since we had a friend do one for us for free right after we got engaged. I was asking her in the email if I could do a boudoir session with her instead as a surprise wedding gift for Fiance, and also letting her know the exact start and end time for the wedding, since we didn’t have that set when we signed the contract.

Call her. Don’t stress out wondering about emails and her updating her facebook page. Call her and get it dealt with.
