  • poll: What kind of song did you walk down the aisle to?

    A traditional song

    A non-traditional song (with lyrics)

    A non-traditional song (instrumental version)

My bridal party also walked down the aisle to a non tradition song

We all walked down to Ingrid Michaelson’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. It was incredible.

I went non traditional and used the instrumental version of Pure Imagination. We used it for the entire bridal party and just let it keep playing because it’s like 4 minutes long. It was the perfect choice, everyone commented on how much they loved it.

I’m thinking of Pur Ti Muro by Monteverdi for my walking music. It’s a classical violin piece, and it’s sooo beautiful. But I’m worried people won’t get it, so I’m still deciding.

I’m walking down to “Inevitable” by Anberlin on Saturday!  It’s pretty much my favorite song, so it is convenient that the pace works and the words always make me happy – “I want to be your last first kiss”

My Fiance hasn’t decided what he and the rest of the bridal party is walking down to, but it sounds like a Vitamin String Quartet version of Home or Safe and Sound or Don’t Stop Believing.  We’ll see…

I am walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of “Falling Slowly” by Swell Season (we are huge SS fans) and the girls are walking to “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz (he was our first concert together), also instrumental. I can’t wait to hear them both! I love the idea of using non-traditional music that represents us. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m planning to walk down to a nontraditional song: Vitamin String Quartet’s version of Elliott Smith’s “Say Yes.”  We’re planning to use VSQ versions of some of our favorite music for the ceremony and cocktail hour … We haven’t figured out all of the songs we’ll be using yet, though.

I’m pretty sure we’ll use the traditional wedding march for my walk down the aisle. It’s what I’ve always imagined. I love traditions.

Bridal party walked down to “I’ve seen all good people” by Yes, and I walked down to “Mood for a Day” also  by Yes. Mood for a Day is just guitar though, really beautiful.

@snd485:  that is not strange at all!!! i love that song instrumental! I was going to do that until I heard I can’t help falling in love by Elvis Presely

All you need is Love was the theme of wedding you can say. We gave coffee mugs as favors and we printed All you need is love on them.

I am so struggling with this!! I want something alternative, but not silly, and something joyful. It’s a killer.

We had a band for the ceremony. They played an acoustic instrumental version of “Here Comes the Sun” for the wedding party to walk down to. I walked down to Adam Sandler’s “Grow Old With You” sung by a friend (who was in the band) and played on his acoustic ๐Ÿ™‚

We all walked out of the ceremony to “All You Need Is Love” again sung by the same friend and played on his acoustic

We’ve found an instrumental version of “All you need is love” and we LOVE it. Can’t listen to it without smiling. And I particularly love the triumphant sounding horns at the start, it’s like it was meant to be a bridal march! weather permitting our ceremony will be on the rooftop of our venue at twilight so something nontraditional and romantic seemed to be called for ๐Ÿ™‚

I have to admit I half wish I could be there when the music starts to play because i think there will be some funny reactions from guests as it dawns on them what’s playing ๐Ÿ˜› lol.
