Hey everyone!!! The fiance and I are trying to find a philadelphia area venue (anywhere within an hours drive of philadelphia) that offers a bar package and food for around 60-65 per person. So far everything that i find is around $100 a head. Is this even possible????? Help!!! He is a Philadlephia firefighter if anybody offers a discount for that maybe?

What kind of venue are you looking for? Do you need a ceremony space too?

What about a firehall? He is a fire fighter, after all…might make for some cute pics.
I know it’s maybe not the most glam place on the outside, but some of them can really be punched up on the interior. Plus, he might even be able to get the room for free, which would free up your budget to spend on catering and booze.
I really don’t know of anywhere that’s below $100pp in the Philly area.

There are a number of venues, you need to be patient and look really hard. Your guest list is going to limit your venues – you didn’t mention how many guests you’re trying to have. If you can get 70 people or less, many restaurants will be able to accommodate you. If you can have less than 110, look into the Gables at Chadds Ford.
Also, be open to a reduced bar or daytime wedding. Most of your costs are going to be eaten up in tax and gratuity.

@phillycouple25: Look into Ballroom at Hampton Square in Southampton. Thye have an open bar, sit down package for $67/person. Beautiful room, great food, large dance floor, but (always a but) it is in a shopping center. Hence, the great price. Here is their website:

Good luck!

Check out Boothwyn fire company’s hall. We went there for a funeral luncheon and I was blown away. They added the rooms onto the fire hall very recently and the food was FANTASTIC. We had looked into the caterer earlier and I am pretty sure they were around your budget.
Also, check into some bed and breakfasts and farms in Chester County that are beautiful and very reasonable.
