Haha, sorry that is kind of gross. Do you have a lot of other toys for the kitty to play with?  Never heard of this before but I’m sure it’s just a phase….I hope ๐Ÿ™‚

I would try a top-entry litterbox.  She won’t be able to whack the poop out.  It also reduces litter scattering around the house.

I’ve never had that issue. Maybe it’s something she’ll grow out of? Perhaps if you find her doing that, take her somewhere where her toys are and show her what the appropriate things to play with are? A top entry litter box might work also ๐Ÿ™‚

@TinyTina:  Maybe call your vet?  They might have some ideas too ๐Ÿ™‚

@TinyTina: I feel like self-cleaning litterboxes are the fix for everything cat related! Or at least when I respond to a thread about cats I always manage to talk about them. Really, though, the Littermaid I have is great. It doesn’t clean immediately after kitty goes, I think it’s 8 minutes after they leave the box, but it makes it so there’s hardly anything around to play with later. Or a covered litterbox. My parents cat flings litter and waste everywhere and that has helped them immensly.

@jenniferjane: I didn’t even think of that! Top entry would work really well too! She’s young enough that she couldn’t probably learn to use it without being freaked out.

I don’t have any advice that hasn’t already been offered. But i laughed when i read this because that is absurd behavior! Good luck!
