i think if you can afford it and its something you really want then go for it.

i am having a MUCH smaller wedding – 17 people total! and i questioned so many things, but i decided to do them all because its my wedding, and these things make me happy, it is not dependent on number of guests.

besides a jazz band is good to sit down and listen or get up dance, so i think you are fine either way!

We were considering a jazz band too for our small wedding. We had originally guesstimated around 50 guests. We really really wanted one, and it fit within our budget; however, we decided against it because with a band we wouldn’t have control over how loud they played, and with that many guests, we decided it would be too much. If you are going to be outside and you both really want to have a jazz band, I say go for it, but if you are inside, you might want to consider the loudness factor.

My friend hired a jazz band for her reception. She had a little bit bigger wedding (maybe 100 people), but it was a really great addition. I think when you have DJ style music, you tend to get the younger people on the dance floor, but with the jazz band, people of all ages were out there dancing it up.

Maybe consider a jazz trio instead of a full band… similar effect, more economical.

it would be wonderful.  The question you should ask yourself is… would my future husband and I enjoy it.  If the answer is yes, then don’t hesitate.
