I’d say put the sign up just like you were planning, but underneath it add a little blurb about the origin of wishing trees (the real ones) and how you hope everyone at the wedding gets their own wish to come true and how about they write a wish for you.

How about printing out a wishing tree poem and framing it? You can find bunches of them online here’s an example

As we begin our new journey
a brand new Mr. & Mrs.
We could surely use
your advise and wishes.
Share with us your wisdom
about marriage, love & life,
The secret to being a good husband
or top-notch first-rate wife

BTW- Yay date twin! We’re getting MARRIED this weekend πŸ™‚

Bella13- CUTE idea!

Toffee- LOVE that idea too… I think I am gonna use it πŸ™‚

I am also doing a wish tree . I am thinking we will do an 8×10 sign in a great frame, saying something like

“For the couple… Make a wish. Share a quote. Give advice. Write your name.”

I’m envisioning awesomely designed layout with cool fonts. Don’t know if those will be the exact words, but something simple, cute, and to the point. I really like the combination of Bella and Toffee’s ideas.

GOOD LUCK at the weddings, ladies!!! Have the time of your life πŸ™‚

I have a longer version of Bella’s saved:

As we begin our journey

A brand new Mr. and Mrs.

We could surely use

Your advice and good wishes.

Jot down a memory,

A reminder of the day.

Draw a doodle or picture

If you’re not sure what to say.

Share with us your wisdom

About marriage, love, and life,

The secret to being a good husband

Or a thoughtful, loving wife.

Please don’t forget

It would be such a shame

To leave your card

Without signing your name.

I’m making one of these as well. But 1 thing….since this is a little time consuming for a guest to stand there and write advice or a wish…should this be in the reception room itself?? And ppl can freely come up and leave a wish or advice? Or should it be right when they walk in the door like a Guest Book??? And should I still do a guest book? I don’t think I’m going to.  I just plan on having a pretty tree and pieces of already cut paper with ribbon on it for guest to write on and hang when they are done……any thoughts.
