    Of course.   Even if you never get engaged, it would be fine, unless you are planning to pull out a calendar and go over potential dates.

    I don’t see why that would be an issue. Unfortunately, SO and I are long distance, so there will ahve to be a more “official” let’s get together and get to know each other dinner post-engagement, but that’s only because parents live 8+ hours away from each other.

    My mom invited my FI’s family over for Easter dinner before we were engaged. After awhile, it’s going to happen, engagement or not!

    I think that’s  a great idea…the parents can get to know each other first.

    Of course! Absolutely fine! Our familes had occasions together several times before we were engaged and they’d definitely met each other a lot.
