Jessoverall! I didn’t want to mention this on the main Dev board, but I’m having the SAME freak out! I was feeling so good about Devenport up until last week and then POOF! I started looking at dresses again and I’m having some serious cold feet about my dress now. My mother and all of my friends think I’m crazy, but I just don’t know! I keep telling myself it’s normal and that as soon as I put the dress back on all of the reasons why I picked it in the first place will come rushing back… I actually scheduled an appointment for this week to go try Dev on again, just to remember what it feels like. Is there any bridal salon near you that carries Watters gowns? It might help!

Ha, found you!  Girls, don’t worry!  I’m totally flat chested compared to my hips (B cup, size 12 pants) but I really feel like the Devenport highlights my bust and hides my hips.  That bodice totally sucks in the waist and works miracles.

Ugh! So I had to cancel my dress appointment last week, which really bummed me out. I’m rescheduling in January but I’ve been feeling A LOT better about my dress choice. I keep chasing that feeling I had when I was wearing it! I’ll let you know how the visit to try her on again goes next month! Until then I’m going to continue to stalk the Internet for pics of this dress!

I think that dress is GORGEOUS and you’ll look amazing in it.  Stop worrying about it – I know once I ordered my dress, I had to stop looking at other dresses so I wouldn’t secondguess myself.  I think you’re going to LOVE your dress once you put it on in a few months!

Update: I went back and tried on Dev. I tried on two new dresses, just to see, and it wasn’t even close to a fair competition. Dev always wins out!!! But seriously, it was love at first fit all over again. This is a magic dress. I put it on and everything just falls into place! All of my doubts were snuffed out and I’m back to being 100% excited to wear her on the big day. Now if I can only figure out the sash, jewelry, and shoe situation ๐Ÿ™‚

@Jessoverall:  April is right around the corner, I promise! And I swear, in the land of wedding planning, time flies. I’m in love with a few necklaces on BHLDN but I haven’t decided on anything just yet. Have you? This dress really needs a statement necklace, but it’s tough! As for shoes, I’m planning on making them my “something blue”! I love the idea of lifting up the dress to reveal a pop of color. But the peachy pink sounds gorgeous! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for some. I bet more will pop up come spring. Oh, and I am veiling it afterall! My mom found her veil from her own wedding and I’m going to attach it to a haircomb. It’s nothing too long, just down to my mid-back, but I love it! It’s my “something old” ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey ladies! I am about to purchase a devenport at a trunk sale this july … after narrowing it down to my top 3 (or 4) choices I decided it was really the most pretty and was the “look” I’m going for (classic, feminine, doesn’t show off too much of the silouette like a dropped A line –I like that look but it doesn’ scream wedding to me).

However, I feel your pain … I have been seeing a lot of larger women in these dresses, particularly those that are well endowed. They look beautiful and it worries me that it is not a dress for small women. I am 5’2, 120#, 34x28X37 and an A cup — not much up top and and not a tiny waist either! Can anyone that is petite that has worn the dress post some pictures?

Is there anyone out there with a smaller top and that is petite pulling this dress off? I am starting to have some serious dress doubts as I’ve only tried it on twice (in the same day).

Thanks ladies! ๐Ÿ™‚
