@Hcrab81:  Yes, because, if you don’t you will drive yourself absolutely crazy, and you won’t ever be able to be satisfied with or enjoy anything. πŸ™‚ I should note that I am always honest, and I have told brides if I like their potential “new” dress better.  Sometimes, it really may be worth it to buy a second dress. However, in this case, I really do think you made the right choice.

If it helps to know, I’ve been married for nearly three years now, and I often feel “dress regret” and “photography regret” and, yes, sometimes even “e-ring” regret when I see options and ideas on SYTTD and other wedding shows or on WB — options that I did not even know existed when I was making my decisions.

You will be a stunning bride in the gown that you chose! πŸ™‚

i’m having this problem right now. i haven’t called db or anything cause i have mixed answers on what db does about the exchange policy. my reciept strictly says no returns or EXCHANGES.. yet i’ve heard they DO for equal or lesser value. its not about price for me, i just simply don’t think my dress is THE ONE. i just picked it up maybe 3 days ago. tried it on last night & wanted to cry because its SO NOT the one. i hope they’ll let me exchange it..

DB will allow for exchanges under certain conditions (no returns)–they do want brides to be happy, in the end. If the manager allows an exchange, and it is at the manager’s discretion (or the corporate office in PA), than you have to exchange it for a gown or product(s) of equal or greater value.

I personally love the first gown you found and it is quite the breath of fresh air. The problem you may have, if you chose to go with the second one, is finding it in stores. It is a discontinued design (it has.99 cents–which in DB speak means discontinued) and so your store may not have it, but they may be able to check the system for you.

I had a different set of circumstances,(andi it was before I worked there), I bought/paid for my original gown in Boston, picked it up in Philadelphia and then exchanged it in Delaware–it was a weird set of circumstances, but it did work out in the end.

I like the second dress better, but I think it’s mostly the sweetheart neckline… I actually lke the back of the first dress a lot better so… Here’s a thought: Why not just keep your dress, have the neckline turned into a sweetheart style, and promise yourself to stop browsing wedding dress webstes? I much prefer the first dress. While I do like the sweetheart neckline on the second one, I think the beading and lace don’t look that great. I like lace too so I understand how you feel but I dont think the lace is nice enough to make the change. I’m also quite iffy on the beading and not because I dont like beading over all, I just dont think that beading is Perfect.

I looove the back of the first dress. The bottons are beautiful and are a totally must-have detail! Definitely a more worth-while detail! I also like a more simple style because they you have the freedom to wear fun accessories.. if that’s your thing!

@Hcrab81:  I really like the dress you have! I think it’s stunning.  Honestly.  I’ve obviously had my share of dress regret, so I do understand how you’re feeling.  I’ve been thinking a lot about it lately, and I think maybe some people are more prone to dress regret than others. (People like me, who have a hard time making decisions in general, will have more trouble being confident in a dress they’ve chosen…)  You have a lot of time until your wedding (if it is May 2013), so try not to stress too much. It will all work out it in the end. πŸ™‚

I suggest trying them on and then you’ll know for sure.  You might not like the look of the lace at all on you and then you won’t have to worry about it.  after that QUIT looking!
