Wishing you peace and a healthy pregnancy! It sounds like you and your Darling Husband were really shocked, but you have months to get used to the idea of a new baby joining the family. And given how many surprise babies there are in the world, I think there are a whole lot of parents whose initial reaction was “OMG what have we done!!!” and they go on to love their babies with all their hearts. I know for a fact I was a surprise, my parents were not planning on more kids, and I have been the spoiled baby of the family my whole life πŸ™‚ Good luck!

Good luck sweets!  We were actively TTC and my first thought was still “OMG What have we DONE?!??!” haha.  It sunk in and now I’m showing & feeling kicks, punches, rolls, jumping jacks, etc… and I couldn’t be more excited.  I’m sure that you guys will embrace this surprise with open arms & open hearts, once the shock wears off.  Best of luck!

Did they determine how far along you are?  I’m glad the appointment went well!

@Rivendeler:  congratulations!  Don’t worry.  My parents were 41 when they had my little sister (suprise!), 20 years after they gave birth to their first kid, my oldest brother.  So they are 20 years apart, and the 4 of in in the middle are spread all throughout those 20 years.

So, it’ll be great!

@Rivendeler:  Awww wishing you the best. I rememmber the day my parents told me they were expeting my little brother. It was one of the BEST days of my life and I remember it so clearly. I was also there at the delivery, it was amazing. Best of luck πŸ™‚

@Rivendeler:  Congrats, sounds like this will be a wonderful addition to a great family. The age ranges in my family are a bit like your kids’, and I benefitted so much from having older siblings. It’s really a blessing! If anyone reacts negatively to your news, that’s their problem.

Congrats! That is so exciting! A good friend of mine just had her 3rd child not long ago.  She was 40 when she had her little girl, had a daughter 17 and son 22.

Wishing you the best! Congratulations, I hope you and your husband are both able to warm up to the little one eventually. I am sure it will still be a joyous occasion when he/she is born even if it wasn’t planned. πŸ™‚ Hehe looks like your kids are spread apart like my siblings and I – my older brother is 30, I’m 24, and my little brother is 15. πŸ™‚
