(Closed) Having issues with friend/wedding planner. Should I let him go? :(

@echolove:  wedding planners normally deal with venue logistics (transport, decor, timeline)

they dont generally have anything to do with invitations or the dress. this is something you should be doing by yourself. you already have a venue right? wedding planners facilitate the details, but the couple still needs to do some things by themself

i’d send him an email asking if he really has time for this, and if not to let you know so you can get on with it yourself. and do some research in the meantime

Since he is a friend, I would have one last converstion with him. Write a list of things that you expect him to do. Then sit down and set up deadlines (ask how many hours he plans on spending on each task). Then inform him, if he misses a deadline,  you will be finding another planner.

@echolove:  But also tell him that you are looking into other planners if he misses deadlines. I would just say, with everything that is going on right now, a free gig might not be best for him.
