I can understand why he’d be shocked about you not wearing white. But he really shouldn’t have verbalized his shock in the way that he did lol.
Glad to hear you found someone else to do it. We didn’t meet with our photographer prior to booking her but her portfolio was absolutely stunning. All of her past clients raved about her as well and we’re shelling out $3000 for her so I know she won’t disappoint. She’s been amazing to us this past year, with us having to postpone our wedding due to my fiances truck accident, and she even met with me after his accident (to give us our e-pic CDs) and hugged me and told me she was sorry to hear about his accident, etc, etc. She even kept up with our journey on FB and through our blog. She’s very compassionate! ANYWAY! Lol. Glad to hear you found someone better! =]
I just get paid to shoot, not tell you what to wear or how many people to have in your wedding party. My opinion only matters when it comes to posing and lighting. If you ASK for my opinion on something else, I will offer it, if I have one. Other than that, I agree with AngieLP that it sounds like he is portfolio building and was hoping to get a white dress/big wedding gig.
I agree with the photogs and other previous posters, it sounds like he’s trying to build a portfolio.
My opinion, I’d look around for someone else unless you’ve already signed a contract. He seems amateurish but if you really love his stuff, then keep him. He didn’t seem very professional.
We did find a different photographer–MOH and her hubby are really into photography and he’s looking to build his portfolio (his stuff is great), so he’s offered to shoot the whole day for $300. 🙂 I would not book the other guy if my life depended on it–we don’t need someone insulting our choices.
