Well, I am biased since I am having my dog as ring bearer.

I don’t think it’s tacky.  Weddings should involve those you love and are closest to, and pets are family.

I think it would be cute, but I love dogs. But it also depends on if he could stay calm during the ceremony and hopefully none of your guests will be allergic.

I think it’s adorable, provided the dog is well behaved. I have three dogs and would love to have them as ring bearers, but I’m pretty sure they would go nuts with all the excitement, so they’ll be staying home.

Make sure you get a venue that will allow it.  My sisters have really bad allergies when it comes to animals, and I’m afraid of dogs, so I’m not personally a fan of it!  But if you are sure your dog will behave and isn’t running around guests that aren’t comfortable (or allergic), I say why not.

I love the idea! I am trying to decide if I want to do it as well..

I’m not having my dog as my ring bearer, so maybe I’m less biased–but I think it’s adorable, too! The only thing I would worry about are logistics. Is someone going to have to take them back home or watch them during the entire reception?

Cute. πŸ™‚ We didn’t trust our dog to be the ring bearer, because she might have just run into the water with our rings around her neck, but we did let her wander around freely during the ceremony. She stayed close to us the entire time and showed up in a lot of the photos. When my husband and I were having portraits taken, she walked right over and sat in front of us as if she knew it was portrait time. Too cute.

Do it!!  I am going to purchase a tux for my chihuahua.  He’ll be close to 14 at the event.  He’ll carry the rings in a special pocket and walk down the aisle with me.

It only seems fitting since he was the deliverer of the engagement ring.  He’s also consistantly been my buddy since I was 16 yrs old so he’s perfect for the job.

I’m all for dogs in the wedding! We really wanted to have our two, except one will just be over a year old (and a non-listening labrador), and the other will be approaching 2, and he’s just stubborn.

Just make sure you think of all the things that could go wrong (which is why I decided against it!). Make sure your dog can handle noises, strangers, and any of other things that could come up!

I really wish we could have ours in it πŸ™‚

Fiance and I just talked about this over the weekend! Since everyone we know would be at our wedding…who would watch our little fur-baby? I think this is an adorable idea…especially if everyone who knows you two know your dog as well. Pets are family!

i would LOVE to do this with our little roofus but the Fiance said no πŸ™ Besides that, she would cry for me if someone else was holding her. I could maybe do it if I just made a nice leash for her and someone standing close to me held onto her. She would have to be almost immediately beside me though or she would think she was dying. Silly dog.
