What do you mean the wedding weekend starts on Thursday? What day is your actual wedding?  The reason I ask is b/c maybe people will just fly into town the day of your wedding and not before so they don’t have to pay for an extra night of a hotel room.  That being said, I think hosting a fun activity on Friday would be lovely for guests who are in town and who choose to participate.

Hmm…we are just giving people suggestions on what to do/see. I don’t think it’s necessary to jam-pack the day, but I think a couple of activities would be a lovely surprise for the guests!

I think as long as it’s optional and you and your Fiance are paying for it them I think it would be great. I just wouldn’t make it a mandatory group thing as people may have other plans when they come in town and it’s hard to arrange something like that if you aren’t paying for it. The other option would be to put together some type of “acitivities in the area” information in the guests bags so everyone who isn’t familiar with the area will be able to find something to do.

I love the idea, but I would caution you against Friday.  I’m 7 weeks out from my wedding and the list of things to do the day before is quickly growing!

This may not work for you, but we have a lot of international guests coming into town several days before the wedding, so on the Thursday before I’ve organized a wine tour (wedding in Santa Barbara- wine country!).  We just put info on the wedding site and indicated the cost and booking instructions.

I am actually really excited for this extra time to spend with people who are coming from so far away to see us!
