Man, my parents got married on FRIDAY the 13th. That was in 1975. They celebrated 37 years of marriage this year.

Go with the venue you love. Don’t pay attention to silly superstitions.

I’d do it. I’m not superstitious. Those people who think you aren’t getting married can choose to believe that, but that’s kind of strange….haha.

Why is Saturday the 13th a problem?  I thought Friday the 13th was the standard superstitious time…. are you that superstitious?  I would not give a damn about this.

Take the first date you can get if you don’t want to keep pushing the date back. Personally I would not get married in July, too hot.

I’d do it.  I was nervous about getting married in 2013, but then I realized I wasn’t nervous enough to wait at least another 6 months to marry him in 2014. I probably wouldn’t want to get married on Friday the 13th prob, but on a Saturday – no big deal.

Saturday the 13th is fine.  It’s Friday the 13th that is considered really unlucky.  And looking into the history of the date I don’t see much that I would consider to be concerning or particularly unlucky.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/July_13

I’d do it!  Just because it’s the 13th, doesn’t mean your marriage is doomed!  The only thing I’d consider is the venue during July – ie: will it be outdoors in the heat, etc.

I got married on a Saturday and my grandparents got married on a Saturday and next week they will be together 39 years. It’s not a lot of people say Saturday weddings are bad luck, it’s just crazy.. Go with your date

I was seriously considering booking on April 13.  But I’m not superstious at all! Go for it!

@alg0188:  Why is it bad luck? I’ve heard no superstitions about saturday the 13th. I say go for it, you realize how many superstitions are out there? You’re bound to go against a few dozen.

I always wanted to get married on July 13- my half birthday and I was born on Friday the 13th! Haha… but I guess that’s just me!

I don’t like odd numbers, but if my venue only had an odd number I would totally take it! The date is only a big deal if you make it one. 🙂
