My FI and I had sex while I was spotting. I didn’t know I was spotting at first. We stopped immediately once we realized I was spotting. Should I be worried? I don’t notice any symptoms. P.S. I am taking birth control everyday.

Nope, it’s happened once with my SO and I, he noticed after we finished. It was a TINY amount of blood, hardly anything, I think it kind of freaked him a little bit. But we took a break for a few hours, then once we started up again, everything was fine 🙂 Though we used a condom, were you having sex unprotected?

What exactly are you worried about? Getting pregnant? If you’re taking your pill correctly every day, you should be fine. You can have sex during your period, when you’re spotting, or whenever. Or are you worried something else is wrong? Sometimes I just randomly spot, oh the joys of hormonal birth control. 🙂

@misspeanut: Seeing the blood worried me, but maybe I am overreacting. Thanks for the advice!

There is nothing to be worried about over having sex while spotting. DH and I do it (and also have sex while on my full-blown period). Just because there is a little blood doesn’t mean there is anything wrong.

Spotting is nothing to worry about. If you start to bleed a lot during sex and it’s not attributed to your period, then you should call your doctor, but spotting happens to a lot of women from time to time.
