I need to ask some advice.. I am having a great deal of trouble finding a suitable outdoor ceremony venue in my small to medium size town in Iowa. It seems like most couples that get married here either have a church wedding or go to the sole botanical gardens in the town to have their ceremony.
The botanical gardens in town is “okay”. Nothing special. I don’t like the way they stack weddings every 2 hours on weekends, so potentially you would only have about 45 minutes before your ceremony to decorate, and you would have to tear down all the decor immediately afterwards as well. They also typically use grey metal folding chairs (think the kind your church basement has). If you wanted nicer chairs, you would have to swap them out in that 45 minute window as well. It just seems like a recipe for disaster!
I have been searching high and low for a different option, but I can’t seem to find one. I am going to have appx 150 guests, so a B&B or someone’s backyard isn’t really an option either due to space constraints.
Short of cold calling farmers to ask if I can use their back fields, anyone have any ideas??
