You’ve thought that through well. I can’t really fault it! I especially like that you’re catering for your guests while you’re off having photos done.

Do you have any brothers? At my wedding, all my-family-only photos were done before the wedding (including my brother, who wasn’t in the bridal party). So you might want to schedule more than half an hour for getting dressed + photos with dad (and rest of family?) But then, I don’t see why the BMs + mum need an hour to get dressed. So maybe get dad to arrive closer to 2 than 2.30

I would suggest that you leave a bit more time for transportation to the Ceremony site. There may be traffic and you may want a few minutes of calm for yourself right before the ceremony.

I notice a few things – 1) Your ceremony ends at 4 but cocktail hour doesn’t start until 5. What are your guests doing for that 4-5 hour? (You do have “mingle” planned from 4-4:30 but isn’t that what cocktail hour is for? 2) Guests arrive for the ceremony about 3. Dinner isn’t until 7. Are there appetizers during cocktail hour? If not, you will want to make sure you have some.

We did our speeches in between courses – so one speech as they were clearing the first course, etc. Speed things up and got us to the party faster. Just a suggestion πŸ™‚

Glasgowbound:  I think she means guests hang around the ceremony site 4-5 (or at least 4 – 4.30), congratulating the bride + groom or talking to each other. That’s pretty normal here (Australia). Then guests have cocktail hour while the bride + groom go to get photos taken.

Not compulsory, but it might be an idea to have some light refreshments available during the mingle time, especially if it’s summer. Even a table with some water can be a big help.
