- Wedding: September 2012
We are officially married 🙂 There was a particular gift that I opened the morning after that made me bawl my eyes out.
My (favorite) Grandmother gave me a promise of $1,000.00 to go towards a memory making vacation. I had to come up with an itinerary/destination before I can have access to the money. (She wanted to make sure we wouldn’t spend it on “stuff”)
I get the travel itch, a travel agent (missionary), and have some places on my “must see before kids list.”
HAWAII is the big one. While I can still rock a bikini and not worry about kids and can still do the activities such as paddle surfing, hiking, kayaking, etc.
I tossed some other ideas around at first. Like visit her in AZ and take Tim to the Grand Canyon. But an old coworker’s husband passed away after 2 years of marriage very recently.
Life is too short.
I will say it everytime, that I would marry Tim again even if I knew I would only have 3 months or 3 years. GOD FORBID anything should ever happen to us at this point in our lives. Bucket lists and adventures together shouldn’t wait.
Yes…its expensive. So my awesome bees, I need some tips. I know, the travel agent asking tips. (I do missionary groups they dont’ go to Hawaii and we don’t sell cruises. Airfare and hotel only.)
Is a Hawaiian cruise worth it?
Pros: Meals and entertainment for the most part is included. No extremely long flight. Can have a floating hotel room on the ocean to pass the time. See more islands in one trip. Value for your dollar over a 12-15 day cruise.Cons: Tim and I have a habit of wandering and we have never cruised before. We have no idea what kind of experience we should expect. I like night walks on the beach and a surprise memory by trying a new restaurant. I like rocky shores and sand beaches and hunting in tidal pools. Tim likes the more active things like ATVs and hiking. Would we not get the things we want done without a time limit? Anxiety of not making it back to the ship on time and getting “stranded.”
Can I find a hotel that works with my budget? (keep it under 3,000.00 if possible max $4,500.00 with a trip in 2014 vs. 2013
What islands are the best to visit?
Oahu is a must for us. The culture center, Pearl Harbor, and Waikiki Beach
So if any of you bees have experience please share!!!
