My Fiance and I are about to begin the process of our Hawaii honeymoon planning!! Woo!!! Anyone have any suggestions on where to stay, must see/do while we’re there, any what not to do’s? Also if you recommend using a travel agent or booking it all ouselves? We do a lot of traveling so the vacation planning isn’ too foreign to us but Hawaii certainly is!!
Thanks in advance! xox

We booked our Kauai trip through costco 🙂

We are headed to the big island and Maui on our honeymoon at the end of this month. For part of our trip, we are staying at the Volcano House and it looks awesome. If you are thinking of checking out the volcanoes, you should look it up.

reee: which island(s) are you going to and for how long? hawaii is great! different islands offer different things to see and do. oahu is more of the fun, fast, glitzy island (especially waikiki!) with all of the top named restaurants and shops. maui, big island and kauai are much slower but more beautiful and peaceful.

Which island are you interested in? That will determine the answer you’ll get. We’re getting married on Oahu and have been there a couple of times before (we got engaged there) and then we are honeymooning on Kauai, Maui and the Big Island.

reee: We honeymooned on Kauai, but where you stay and what you do really depends on what island you’re interested in staying on. We booked everything ourselves because we stayed at privately owned homes using VRBO to book so we could have a full kitchen and cook for ourselves, etc. – It was our trade off for being able to stay longer.

Not sure which islands yet…guess that’s what we should be looking at to start! We are planning on going for a 10 day trip though. My Fiance is a history buff so Pearl Harbor is a must and we both love exploring nature like the volcanoes and the waterfalls and things like that. We like to party which we will definitely be doing during our trip but we also want to relax on the beach and maybe enjoy a spa day too. Guess I have to do a lot more research! 🙂
