We will be planning our honeymoon soon and we’ve decided Hawaii!
Neither of us has ever been and have no idea where to beging! Anyone have any advice, suggestions, or tips for us? We are so clueless we don’t even know what island(s) to go too! Also we are getting married on July 27th, and thinking of doing the honeymoon right after. Any ideas if July-August is a good time to go? Should we wait a bit before we go? We also don’t want to spend a ton of money!
Did you go to Hawaii for your honeymoon?? Tell me about it!

@dancingfox: I’m honeymooning in Hawaii in October. We’re going to stay in Kauai because it is a quieter slightly more romantic island though I’m sure that can be argued. Ive never been to Hawaii myself however my future in laws go there a lot and they say that every island is amazing and has a slightly different draw. For example, if you want a great night life, partying and surfing you should go to Maui. If you want a gorgeous, relaxing, intimate honeymoon but want to do some cultural things Kauai is great.
I don’t think that you can go wrong with any island. It is such a beautiful place. Also, as far as I know it’s less expensive to visit Hawaii during Aug-Oct.
What island(s) were you thinking of?

We just booked our honeymoon in Hawaii! We are going to Waikiki Beach on Oahu. I’ve been to Kawaii and Oahu before and my Fiance has been to Maui. I would say that Oahu is the most commecrcial- has a lot of activities to do but also really beautiful. Kawaii is GORgeous, less commercialized/touristy. More natural but less “stuff” to do. Best if you want to just relax. Maui is basically in the middle- touristy but also more nature, if that makes sense….
Hawaii is great because it is good weather year round.
You can start looking at places like Priceline, Alaska airlines (they have deals on flights to hawaii), Travelocity, Expedia, Travelzoo. Be sure to read reviews of the hotels before you book- in the end we decided to stay at the Embassy Suites in Waikiki 🙂

@dancingfox: I visited the big island a few years ago and had a blast. It was really cool having access to two sides of the island, with Hilo being a few hour drive. Stayed in kona, very nice! Let me know if you have any questions!! Lots to do!

We are honeymooning in Hawaii in April – we are going to Waikiki Beach & staying for 9 nights – we did research on hotels for weeks – could not decide between a more expensive hotel with pool & 1000 rooms or a Boutique hotel with only 73 rooms just no pool 🙁 we decided to look on tripadvisor & book the one with the best rating. We are staying at Hotel Renew – its the Boutique hotel – reasonably priced & is rated #4 out of 81 – was stoked!
We know we will be adverturing the whole time anyway & only be in the hotel at night – we love to explore!! Definitely check it out.

We are honeymooning on the Big Island in July right after our wedding. We’re staying on the Kona side. My biggest advice would be to look into alternative housing if you don’t have oodles of money for it. We’re staying in a rented condo as opposed to a hotel, and the difference in price plus cost savings of being able to cook some meals ourselves gave us the ability to stay for a whole week within our tiny budget. It’s kind of awesome.
