If your Fiance has only been to one island, I would say Go! Just pick a different island. Each one is different. My Darling Husband and I went to Maui and absolutely loved it and we are hoping/planning to go back one day! The next island I would pick would either be the Big Island or Kaui. Ahh… Hawaii!

Hooray for not needing a passport! One of the reasons why we chose Hawaii too!

I went to Hawaii (Maui) last September and it was sooooo awesome I will definitely be going back someday.

Europe is pretty nice in October. Have you ever wanted to go?

I think you should go ahead and get a passport anyway, no matter what you decide. Then you’ll be ready to go whenever the opportunity comes up!

There are only a few places that Fiance and I would like to HONEYMOON, and one of those places I’ve already gone with my family, so we are going to wait 7 months and take a Summer Alaskan Cruise, which neither of us have been on before!!!

I say pick an island that Fiance hasn’t gone to and experience that together.  I hear that Kuai is diff than Maui which is diff from Oahu.  You have lots of options.  After a lot of discussion, Fiance and I are doign Maui so I’m a little biased.  Neither of us have been so we are excited to relax and be pamperd on the Honeymoon. πŸ™‚

We just spent 10 days on Kauai in September. It was the most amazing experience. I have never seen anything more beautiful. You should definitely go..

All the Hawaiian islands are very different, so I dont think that should stop you from going to Hawaii.  Which island did he go to already?

We went to Kauai for honeymoon and it was amazing. Darling Husband had been to the Big Island and Maui a couple of times, so we wanted to go somewhere different.

I just got back from vacation to Kauai on Saturday so I’m a little biased but I say…DO IT!!!!!

Especially if you’re looking at a beach-type trip, it doesn’t matter if your FI’s already been. There’s probably so much more to see, and he hasn’t been with YOU which is what the honeymoon is all about anyway. I had already been to Hawaii (Maui and Oahu) but my husband hadn’t, and our trip was still so incredibly special.

Hawaii is seriously the best of all worlds. Great weather and beaches, exotic-ish in that it has its own culture and food and history, but with all the benefits of being part of the US (roads are nice and paved, your phone still works, you know the language, there’s not people trying to push trinkets on you at the beach, etc.). I went to Jamaica and this was not the case (though it was absolutely wonderful but just a different kind of trip).

There are also a ton of things to do. Maybe you can try something new that your Fiance didn’t last time–a helicopter ride (HIGHLY recommended if you do Kauai), kayaking, hiking, sunset cruise, snorkeling, scuba diving, ziplining and lots more (in addition to lazing around on the beach). We were there for a full week and there was still stuff we didn’t have time to do.

I was just talking with my coworker about this because her husband wanted to go to Hawaii for their honeymoon but she thought it would be too “cliche.” They did end up going to Kauai and now she thinks we was a fool for ever questioning! Seriously, it’s magical and I can’t imagine you’d regret it.

Just so you know, the whole “hurricane season” thing is such a joke. We have a rain season, sure, and hurricanes or tropical depressions and what not that occur elsewhere in the pacific can bring rainstorms here, but even then literally every day that it’s raining somewhere, it’s NOT raining somewhere else on the island. I wouldn’t factor that in. Weather in October is just fine, and I’d be willing to bet that even though Fiance went to Oahu before, he probably didn’t see even half of what it has to offer. Most tourists are clueless and stick around Waikiki or maybe stop by north shore but they still don’t know where the best spots are. I’ll give you the rundown if you decide to come. πŸ™‚

Ohau is very different from the other islands, especially if he was only mainly in Honolulu area.  Kauai is by far my favorite, with Big Island being a close second just cause of the volcano and the adventures driving through lava fields.  Maui is beautiful too, but didn’t really do it for me.

I’m in the exact same situation you are – we are getting married 10/1, Fiance has been to Kuai and we are planning on Maui for the honeymoon.

I figure each island is different enough that it will be just as new to him as it is to me.

Europe is great, but not if you want a warm/beachy honeymoon in October.
