I love Hayley Paige’s beaded tops and tulle skirts. Her dresses are everything I’ve ever wanted.
However, I can see a bit of a theme in her prettiest pieces: the top portion is a bit short (not empire waisted by any means, but not as long as most torsos probably are) and the tulle is very poofy.
Her models look flawless and the few women who have posted pictures in her gowns look great (all women that I’ve seen happen to be very thin).
I was just wondering if anybody felt like some of Hayley’s gowns kind of made them feel like they looked wider? Sort of like a horizontal stripe effect. I know I need to try on the dresses myself but I was wondering if anybody had this problem I’m anticipating?
My street size in jeans is about 26, I’m about 5’6. I thought that I was on the thinner side but I do have what somebody once kindly called “a bigger woman’s frame that might not work with Hayley’s style”.
Did you end up taking some layers out of your skirt? Also, did the amount of detail on top make fitting difficult?

I tried on a few of her dresses (Monroe, River, Emeryn, Comet, Honor). I loved the feel of her fabrics and thought they looked way better in person than they do in pictures and on the hanger….sometimes I feel like her dresses are a little too fairy princess for my taste. I’ll be honest, of all the dresses/designers I tried on (25+) hers made me feel the “heaviest”. I don’t know if it was the 2 salons I visited, but both had super small sample sizes (one boutique told me Hayley’s dresses ran a little smaller than other designers) so I instantly felt fat and blobby because they were hard to fit into and way tight (FWIW I’m curvy, 5’4 size 29 jeans). The beading wasn’t as heavy as other dresses I felt, it was lighter and more of a unique design so I can def see the appeal of her dresses.
I would still encourage you to go and try some on! That’s a rude comment someone said to you. If the samples are small in your area and you love the dress, you’ll just have to use your imagination to see yourself in it. Try looking on oncewed or preowned to see if you can find more real, curvier brides in the dresses you love.
Good luck!

I bought a Hayley Paige wedding dress. It’s a ballgown and I absolutely love it. I do think her dresses have a fairy princess look and look best on tiny framed women. I’m hoping to loose a few inches off my waist before my wedding as my dress seems to showcase a super tiny waist best….
Definitely try on her dresses. If your waist is 26″ you will look amazing!

corinnemmm : depends on your torso length. I have quite a short torso, so the shorter torso of her gowns worked well.

I agree with the short torso thing. Never tried one on but I see what you mean.

corinnemmm : No not at all, I’m 5’5″ and a size 26 in jeans and I felt TINY in her dresses. They’re super light and airy, even the bigger princess gowns.
I tried several of HP’s gowns, the Londyn, the Guindon and they were great but for me, they didn’t have enough boning to hold “the girls” up so I decided to go with something else 🙂 I have a slightly larger chest for my size and many of her dresses are quite low in the back.
Happy dress shopping!

I’m larger than your jeans size, and shorter than you, however I have a long torso and short legs. I ended up falling in love and purchased a HP gown. Truthfully you just have to go try them on! Best of luck and keep us posted!
btw sorry someone made such a rude comment to you!

! Thank you so much for the feedback. I’ll keep you posted.
Hopefully I don’t gain any weight!
(I’m a sucker for fairy princess gowns)
