HCG trigger shot… confirming O?

I had no chill after my trigger shot, so I temped, even though the meds in theory could throw things off.  Anecdotally, my temp O pattern ended up looking 100% normal.  If you’re on letrozole and potentially Oing multiple eggs (or “better” eggs), you might get an increase in progesterone and thereby higher temps from that… but I think that any sustained temp rise should give you peace of mind that you O’d.  OPKs wil be positive from the HCG trigger, so they won’t help.  Some labs due mid-LP bloodwork to check for progesterone (as a sign of O).. is it feasible to ask for that, or for an extra ultrasound?  I’m in a similar boat, but wondering exactly WHEN I O’d, and am really hoping for an extra u/s to help clarify that.

You really would need a blood test and/or ultrasound to confirm. I did try an OPL, but of course it was blazing positive. Not to freak you out, but I have actually taken a trigger shot and not O’d, so I think it’s worth it to confirm with the doctor. In my case I had long cycles and they triggered me early because theoretically the numbers aligned with O, but my body likes to take its sweet time. I blew an IUI cycle that way, but since they had a record that I did not ovulate, they knew they had to monitor me better the next time.

KittyYogi :  Ooh, I hope the Tempdrop helps give you some peace of mind. I forget, does it take 30 or 90 days or something to “learn” and correct the prior temps?  Either way, I hope the trigger works!  When I went in for my CD3 scan yesterday, my RE checked to see if my follicle did/didn’t ovulate by checking for a cyst. I guess if O doesn’t happen, the follicle can stick around and turn into a cyst. Anyway, no cyst here, so the plan is to proceed with our second IUI.  Covid here in Belgium might throw a wrench into our plans, but we’re taking it day by day.

KittyYogi :  Lol I know, sorry! What happened to me was pretty rare, if that helps.

KittyYogi :  Interesting!  Hopefully it adjusts for you soon.  AFM, I was supposed to go in for monitoring (and probably trigger) on Thursday, but my hospital has officially cancelled all non-urgent procedures/appointments.  FX that things stay healthy and quiet in your area, and that this cycle goes well for you!!!
