At 12dpo my HCG was 107 and progesterone was 19.5. At 16dpo my HCG was 581 and my progesterone was 13.8. My Dr. was not concerned about the drop in progesterone and said as long as it is above 10 there was no need for suppositories. I pushed to have the numbers repeated next week. Has this happened to anyone? What was your outcome? (positive or negative). I feel like it can’t be a good sign. I have had no spotting or bleeding but I feel like that much of a drop can’t be good. I did read somewhere that progesterone fluctuates over the course of the day but I’m not positive on that. Thanks for any experiences!

Progesterone definitely fluctuates!! I had low progesterone with both my pregnancies (sometimes under 10!) and have two very healthy girls now.
Most doctors do like to see a level above 15 though, so it’s a little surprising he/she didn’t suggest suppositories. Although latest research says low progesterone is not a cause of miscarriage, so supplementing won’t necessarily do anything!
Conrgratulations and hope your levels continue to go up next week!!

Weddingobsessed : I had a lot of bloodwork done in the beginning weeks l, my progesterone fluctuated SO much. I think the lowest they got was 12…I now have a healthy baby boy! My doctor was also not concerned if the number wasn’t below 10.

I’m also surprised that your doctor wasn’t concerned. Typically it rises with pregnancy, they like it 15+. I would press for another test sooner if you are worried.

I called again today and my Dr gave me Crinone 8%. She said she didn’t feel I needed it but would prescribe it if I wanted it. I just feel like who knows how low my progesterone could be now if it was 13.8 several days ago. So I am glad I can start the progesterone now and hope for the best. Thanks for your responses!
