Waiting Update: Omigoodness, Bees, so much has happened! It started off on a little bit of a sad note. My wonderful SO told me a few days ago that he realized that his “dream proposal” just wasn’t fiscally possible. He wanted to surprise me with a trip to Ireland! He would have taken me to Blarney Castle (which is a gorgeous, gorgeous spot and one of my favorites in Ireland) in February or March and when we got to the top to kiss the Blarney Stone, he would have said: “I really don’t need to kiss the stone because I’m already the luckiest guy in the world to have you.” And then the would, of course propose. When he told me that I cried a little, the way I would have cried if he had actually done it. Then I punched his arm lightly and said “The Blarney Stone doesn’t give you LUCK it gives you the GIFT OF GAB!” We then laughed for the rest of the night.
He also told me a bit more about the ring, but I’ll save that for a different post. “Guess Sooby’s Ring Part 2,” anyone?
So later in the weekend, SO and I went to help my mother babysit my nephew. He is two years old and a HUGE handful, so we like to give her breaks every now and again. Apparently, while I was giving my nephew a bath, SO pulled mom aside and asked my mom if she would do him the honor of allowing him to ask me to marry him! He said he could see her tearing up and she said of course. He then showed her the ring on his phone which she said was “just beautiful.” He’s such a sweet guy. He also showed his BFF over the weekend, who said “Aw, Dude!” All misty-sounding, you know?
Okay so cut to yesterday, which was a religious holiday for us, so we went out on the town and to a beautiful park to eat lunch. The WHOLE TIME we were both joking: “wow, this is a beautiful place. We should come back here in, say, February or March!”
Bees, I cannot wait to marry this man.
