Ok Bees – some of you may or may not know, but my wonderful boyfriend was teasing me that he’d propose before my birthday (October 14th.) It didn’t happen, which I knew it wasn’t, since he’s a horrible liar and awful at keeping secrets. He’s been shopping for THE diamond for months. Our wonderful jeweler has been all over tarnation looking for an oval with just the right specs.
BUT today, he was home an hour and a half late this evening, and when I came through the door, he had a huge smile on his face! I prodded a bit (come on, I couldn’t help it!) and he said he was “working late on a project… a very important project…. the biggest piece of the project is done.”
OH MY GOSH HE BOUGHT THE… MY… DIAMOND!! I AM SO EXCITED I COULD PEE MY PANTS!
Ok, phew, had to get that out. It just got so real! Any other Bee’s have that “oh my gosh, it’s real” moment? He said its worth the long search, and a down payment has been made.
I just can’t wait for the setting to be made. It’s kinda custom – the setting I liked only came in platinum, and I want white gold – so I’m guessing a few weeks? Thoughts?
Did I mention that I am SO EXCITED?!!?

@BlondeBee: Can’t wait to see pictures! How exciting!

YAY!!! For my custom ring they told us it would take 3-4 weeks. It’s been 3.5 weeks and no word yet. It really depends on the workload of the jewelery designer. It wasn’t 3-4 weeks for us because making it takes so long, but because there were other people’s rings in front of ours in the “queue”. Hope your will be done in a flash! 🙂

Hooray for you! An oval, welcome to the club. Great choice.
We went the custom route as well and it was a pretty easy process just time consuming. All in all it took about a month to get the finished ring.
Can’t wait to see it.

@ms.jellen: I LOVE ovals. The first time I saw one, I knew it was the shape I wanted. Go Team Oval!
@MissXray: I’ve admired your ring so many times. I love the twist on the side… my setting has the same sort of thing, but without side stones.
@PumpkinCheesecake: Keep me posted on the status of your ring! I am hoping it’s a speedy delivery for both of us!
@Treejewel19: Your ring is one of my favorites on The Bee. You’ll see why when you check out my setting…
It’s very similar to this, but in white gold. JB Star doesn’t come in platinum.
Anyone else have a custom ring? How long did it take to come in? It’s ok to lie to me and say 3 days, just to make me smile 🙂

@BlondeBee: my oval ring was custom and it took a couple of weeks. yay for ovals!
i guess it depends on how busy they are.

yay! my fiance went as well and called the jewelery store of choice to find an Oval as well! He found me the oval, a fancy sunshine yellow oval and when we did that, it did become real, but it became more real when he proposed and put it on my finger. 😀 can’t wait to see it!

Had that with Mr. Mac. We decided on a ring together, love him though I do he is hopeless at picking out things that I will like without asking me first. But it was a custom ring. And I had to wait. Months, not weeks. ARG. So, while I knew the ring was coming, I didn’t know when the proposal was. When he finally got on his knees and gave it me the ring, it was like – oh shit, he actually proposed lol.
