And I feel terrible that I know, but he’s taking it better than I am.
I wanted to be part of the purchase in the sense that I helped pay for such an expensive piece of jewelery that represented both of us. I know that’s not everyone’s choice, but it was ours. Because he has absolutely crap credit (bad choices in the past), I opened up a credit card just for the ring purchase. It’s in my name, obviously my credit, but everything is directed at him so I wouldn’t know what was happening.
Well, he chose Blue Nile to buy from. I was very happy with that. But unfortunately, they called ME to say something was wrong with the order. The credit card company was concerned because it was being shipped to my SO, but at his work address. I’m grateful that they were concerned, and I comlpetely understand the reason for calling me, I was just feeling absolutely terrrible!
I called SO as he was on his way home and said “I’m so sorry to ruin this, but Blue Nile called me about the order. Something about my credit card being on hold.” He just sighed, told my to log into his email account to get any order details and stuff I needed, and then said to call up whoever I needed to call and get it straightened out.
While I sit here going from feeling giddy to feeling bad that I know, despite it not being my fault, he’s really, REALLY excited about it. He said he wanted to propose at our Halloween party this Saturday since all of our friends would be around, but he waited too long and now it won’t be here until the following week. That works for him too, since my lifelong BFF will be in town from 4 hours away and we’ll be going downtown (Chicago) to do touristy stuff for her. He kept saying “Maybe I’ll do it when…” I made him stop. Hahaha.
AHHH! He bought the ring!
