We were partying, drinking champagne and cocktails, caviar and delicious dinner, having fun all night long on Valentines Day. The next morning, I roll over in bed and am not feeling too well. I drank too much, so I decided I would like nothing more than to rest in bed as long as I could.
To my surprise, the boy jumps out of bed. Pleads with me on how he has to eat eggs benedict, and that "how can you stay in bed when it’s so sunny and nice out?" I am thinking how this is so odd, especially since he usually is right next to me and does not want to leave bed either! I give in.
On the way to our favorite restaurant, I really let him know how mad/selfish/upset etc. (you get the hint) he is for making me leave bed and that I wish he would settle for my eggs. I can at least make an egg. Lol.
The hostess leads us to a private area next to a fireplace and to a table decorated with rose petals, chocolate covered strawberries and chilled champagne. I guess I did have an idea that he would ask me, but it didn’t "hit me" yet. I had a little breakfast, once he decided I was satisfied and had champagne, he told me to close my eyes.
When I opened them, I saw the ring! Everyone asks me, what did he say? I have to tell everyone that I honestly did not hear anything and that I just started crying and he slipped the ring on my finger.
So, I guess dreams do really come true!

MsHymanRoth – The same thing happened to me on my engagement day!! He proposed on his birthday … he had told me weeks before that the only thing he wanted on his actual birthday was to go out to dinner with me … so I instead planned a somewhat-surprise birthday party for him at a bar the night before. Since he was being low key (as he knew we had a big day the next day!) I decided to have a few extra drinks to make up for it. I woke up the next morning not feeling so great, and he was in the best mood – it was so annoying! I was like "okay okay it’s his birthday, I’ve got to spark it up" … so I did, and thank goodness I did because it ended up being the most amazing day ever!
