He needs to get over it. If it all happened before you guys met or were dating, he cant sit there and scorn you. If he already knew some of your past, and you being promiscuous was a deal breaker for him, he should have ended it when he first was told, not when he went snooping through a high school/college diary.
Obviously dont know him at all, but i doubt he was a complete angel during college himself, practically no one is…..

MrsHarryDresden : This.
OP, I was in an abusive relationship before my marriage, and he frequenly read and used my own diary against me to justify “why I was the way I was”, to try to “figure me out”. He thought he was entitled to read my personal thoughts and made me feel ashamed of even having personal thoughts. It was humiliating and easily one of the worst things that has ever happened to me personally. This is a huge violation of boundaries and trust and he doesn’t get to judge you for what’s in your diary. He also doesn’t get to read it, EVER. I was so upset that I trashed all my diaries and didn’t write again for years, in fear of them being discovered and used against me. Took years of therapy actually before I was able to journal again. I still try to keep them tucked away in corners of my nightstand because I am still so sensitive and embarrassed about it. Just so you know how harmful this behavior is.

wildwill1968 : I don’t even know why I’m replying to this as this post is 2 YEARS OLD and OP is long gone but way to go with the double standard! I get it, men can be as promiscuous as all get out and have 30 partners and get no judgement at all because….hey its totally acceptable and okay but a girl has 9 and she’s a dirty whore? GTFOHWTS!
If my Darling Husband reacted like OP’s Boyfriend or Best Friend or like you, I would’ve dumped him so fast he’d be in shock. I certainly don’t need judgemental assholes in my life and I hope OP dumped his ass too!
