Mine proposed the morning he picked it up. He gets too excited for things to hide them from me. He always wants to give me my bday presents when he gets them….even though it’s not my bday yet…and always wants to open presents on Christmas eve!

missmorris710:  Oh believe me, he heard it from me. He bought the ring while we were on vacation in St Thomas with his family. His mom had to wear it on her finger when going through security. I had NO CLUE. He bought it when I was out ziplining with his sister. When we got back, I really let him have it about how much cheaper it would have been if he bought it there, and that I bought earrings from the SAME STORE the day after he got my ring. UGH. Boys stink.

My Fiance told me on boxing day last year he had seen a ring he liked in a store. The next day, the lovable idiot told me he bought it.

He didn’t propose until August, when we were on a small holiday to the lake district (we’re in the UK). He took me for a picnic down by the side of a lake and proposed to me there. It was raining heavily and a dog kep running into the lake and trying to shake itself dry by us but it was such an us proposal!

I have to admit I may have prompted the mini-holiday as i did say in July that I didn’t want to have to wait until next year for a proposal after he said he may not do it as he wanted to take me away somewhere nice to do it but I no longer had any leave to book from work.

Obviously now he says that he would have proposed within the year anyway but no one would know now!

Fingers crossed it happens soon! My SO has had the ring for over six months now. He’s a slow mover 😛

I just found out my SO got my ring at the beginning of December! I’m not going too crazy waiting, but I hope it is sooner rather than later! Good luck, OP!

I wouldn’t worry, this is exactly how my Fiance is! He never plans anything and would be more than happy to just hang around indoors! The closest he gets to planning is to turn to me and ask ‘so what do you want to do this weekend’ at which I then plan something!

He did pull it out of the bag for the proposal though! Have faith OP! Your man will surprise you!

I’m in EXACTLY the same boat. Let’s be waiting sisters???  He’s had the ring a week. I’ve done tons of reading and it seems 2 months is a good average.

Can you just tell him its more important to you to just have the ring and be engaged then wait for this supposed perfect moment for him to give it to you?

My ex bought a ring and NEVER did give it to me. For the best now but I don’t think that’s what you’re dealing with here. Especially when he’s telling you he’s waiting for warmer weather for some specific thing. I wouldn’t want to wait for that and if it isn’t what you want, waiting for warm weather for the proposal what is the point.

Mine had it for several weeks. I thought he would wait about 6 months so I was really surprsed.
