specifics for an engagement ring! Granted, I was hoping for a Thanksgiving trip proposal, but after a death in the family I let it go. I wasn’t sure if he even had a ring yet because he can be quite secretive with surprises. So the call confirmed he doesn’t have one but I don’t even care now.
He said he has been wrestling with communicating details to me vs. just keeping it one big surprise. He specifically wanted to know about my standard of the price. He knows the “traditional” is 3 months pay but with that being both of our money he wasn’t sure how I felt. I’m glad he asked because I definitely DO NOT want him spending that much on a ring. My only request is that it costs more than his tv, he laughingly said that’s definitely fair..
Without prompt I also told him that though a diamond is the standard I don’t mind a moissy or white sapphire. As long as it’s clear and pretty. He said he was glad I brought that up because he was knew there are other options out there but if I had a set preference he’d lean that way. He said he has the money right now to go and get a ring(which I knew) but he just wanted to openly communicate with me and let me know that it’s been on his mind a lot even though it hasn’t felt that way. Now what’s left is to “find a way to sneak out without you knowing I’m sneaking out.”
I’m sooo excited!! I also threw in there that just because I don’t prefer yellow gold doesn’t mean I dislike rose gold, which I actually love. I was glad to get that in his head as well because I had settled on that not being an option!
