Welcome to the most agonizing part of waiting!

Your instinct of shutting it up is right. That’s what I had to do in order to not talk about it ALL THE TIME.

In the meantime, why not start a wedding blog/Pinterest? I think mine had over 400 pins on it by the time he popped the question. πŸ˜€

@shewolf:  I’ve tried mine on twice!! You aren’t alone! I call her Stella Marie, and I’m not allowed to discuss her at all. Shut it up pact here we come! It’s sooooo much worse when the ring was on your finger but now you have a naked finger and have to wait silently…

@sapphire-dreamer:  Oh wow. You’re going to be like my friend Joy. The day after he proposed, she had the venue, the caterer, the DJ and the florist booked. πŸ˜€

At least you were allowed to look! I got to try mine on, but blindfolded… and I know exactly where it’s hiding and I’m not allowed to peek… πŸ™

Good job on waiting πŸ™‚ And trying not to bring it up. I’m sure he’s planning something wonderful for you!

what a tease!

take comfort in the fact that he bought a ring so the proposal definitely IS coming one day (hopefully) soon?

I did not even know when or IF my proposal was coming at all. I was waiting for two years!!

I am in your boat! I picked my ring, we managed to get a great deal and save a bundle, FOUND THE RING BOX IN HIS GLOVE COMPARTMENT (on the way to his mom’s house for safe-keeping, he nearly drove off the road when I went looking for napkins and found it) and I still have to wait πŸ™ He’s very romantic…wants this big deal proposal. I’m more practical, I want that ring on my hand so we can get this planning stuff rolling!

Guys, it gets even better. So I find the box on our way to his parents’ house, right? He nearly kills us due to shock? After he stops going into cardiac arrest, he begs me to act as if I have no idea what’s going on once we get to his mom’s house, so as to not ruin the surprise for his parents. Later that night his dad and I are playing card games in the living room while he and his mom are in their bedroom SQUEALING. It was really really cute for the two of us, his parents are so beyond excited for us, but SO HARD TO WAIT STILL.

I told y’all it’d get worse, right? No? Well, it did. Last weekend we were down visiting the future in-laws (we thankfully only live an hour away from Houston, where both our parents are). They were gone for the night at a wedding and my SO was in the living room working on his thesis, so I was watching a movie in the living room upstairs. I snag my nail and go (innocently, honest) looking for a nail file in the junk drawer in the coffee table in front of the couch….

…and what do I find…..

Yup. I wanted to go downstairs and be like buddy, look, you’re gonna have to hide this better but I didn’t want him to be sad I found it AGAIN. I wanted to try it on SO BAD but I knew that I’d never take it off so I denied myself.

I’m pretty sure I would have slapped the man.

With juicy sub sandwich.

Then say, “Oh I’m sorry, this delicious sub was meant for ME. I’d give you some, but all this fucking waiting has me FAMISHED.”
