I’m a returning bee, I was on this board years ago when I was first ‘waiting’. I struggled with and ultimately left an ex-BF who I thought was The One…bounced around a few relationships, lost touch with the BeeHive, and now I have been serious with my new man for just over two years. It I’ve been lurking lately as I’ve gotten into the thick of ‘waiting’. It’s encouraging just to be around the community again, and I even added myself to the waiting list 🙂
In this current relationship I definitely struggled with feeling like I was waiting. It took a real conscious effort to make sure I was being open and honest with my expectations without being totally demanding. It’s not an exact science, lol! I was upset becuase we had started talking about it last christmas and I was expecting a proposal by our anniversary this summer, or my birthday, or after he met my dad (which also happened this summer), etc. Milestones kept ticking by. And with all the weddings to go to, including a couple that had gotten together and then engaged/married before we had even gotten engaged! Infuriating! You ladies know how hard that is. Some comments can really sting that mean no harm, when you’re on the waiting rollercoaster.
We’ve been looking at rings since June. Honestly I’m not a huge jewelry person and he doesn’t have a lot of $, so this has been a bit of an ordeal. I’ve shown him tons of stuff that I liked. I was just steeling myself for the long haul and then this weekend we found THE ONE! We were in the store to look at something else, and saw this design and both thought it was cooler than anything we’ve ever seen. It looked amazing on me and was SUPER comfortable. And even though I would have been happy with basically the first ring we saw at the mall on our first trip (as long as he was asking), this is important to him to do it this way. He was looking on their website as soon as we got home.
Exactly 2 days later, he took me back to get my finger sized and place the order!
OMG!!!! Here are pics: It will be a smaller centerstone (closer to half carat vs 1 ct in the photo)…

Oh it’s very unique and interesting to look at, I love it!!!! It’s a solitaire with a slight twist! I’ll have been with my boyfriend three years in November, and our one year of living together is in October. Hopefully our wait is over soon!

loveuniquely s the side view… That’s what I based my ring off of. I looked like a crazy person because I would look in all the casesq from a squatting position.

I’m in the same boat as you too… my Boyfriend or Best Friend and I have been ring shopping since early June, and I recently discovered that he secretly ordered the ring. Ahhh, the wait!!

Thank you so much! The setting is a Mobius, it is really cool and different.
We went together yesterday to OK the center stone and it looked HUGE to me, at .48 and very very sparkly. I’m a size 6.
I hope it happens by the end of the month which is what he says he is planning. It feels so good and surreal now. It seemed like I was in and out of the mucky parts of waiting for a long time, so perhaps it only gets better after all that.
