My fiancé is not stealthy. I knew all week that he was up to something. He was just acting weird. He kept staring at me, giggling (so cute) , being out of touch/late, and seemed nervous. I knew he was planning something – though I didn’t know what!
On Saturday my (now, yay!) fiancée and I had a rather uneventful, relaxed day. We slept in, went out for brunch, had a massage, and then he accompanied me to my regular mani/pedi appointment. We took a nap and then ordered Jimmy John’s for dinner. I wasn’t expecting much. I figured he must be proposing some other time because no one in their right might would propose to a girl over Jimmy John’s (or so I hope!).
After we finished our Jimmy John’s dinner, he told me to go get ready and that he would be back in an hour and a half to pick me up. I nervously got dressed and he came back to my apartment to pick me up as scheduled. We headed down the street to a local Irish bar – the bar where we had our first un-official date. On Saturday nights they always have live music and it’s a popular hangout. It’s always a hassle to get in.
To my surprise, not only did we breeze right in, but we had a reserved table. The band was just about to begin to play when my fiancé got up on the stage. He pulled his guitar out from behind the band’s other equipment and started to sing and play a song for me. He then invited me up on the stage, professed his undying love and devotion, and proposed to me in front of 200+ people hanging out at the bar with a beautiful 3-carat six-prong Tiffany style solitaire.
I love the way he proposed because it was uniquely us. It was in place we first realized we liked each other. He played guitar and sang to me – which he always does at night when I can’t sleep or feel anxious. I also liked the large crowd cheering in the background – what can I say, I love affirmation! It was perfect. The ring is perfect! I’m so pleased.
Below are ring pictures. As I said before, it is a 3-carat six-prong Tiffany style solitaire. For reference sake, I’m a 6.5 ring finger.
Sorry they are so big. I don’t know how to resize them. I also apologize for my hands. They look like an old woman’s hands! I really need some moisturizer!
