Basically, the guy who altered my wedding dress ruined it. It’s now too small on my ribs and I can’t breathe in it, and he cut out the extra fabric so it can’t be taken out enough for it to fit me again. (This is the kind of thing that couldn’t be fixed by losing weight since it’s on my ribs.) I ran around town trying to get opinions from other alterations places to no avail.
So, I lost my wedding dress with less than 3.5 weeks until the wedding.
It was the father of one of my bridesmaids who did it so I couldn’t show how devastated and fuming I was, but I broke down pretty bad when I got home.
I realized that with the time crunch I had to find a new dress ASAP, which meant potentially not getting the kind of dress I orininally envisioned, and also likely spending more money since I had less time to price compare.
And now I have to get new shoes & accessories for this dress when I should be concentrating on the other details that have to get finished!
… Anyhow, this is the new dress I purchased, and alterations for it alone are costing more than my original dress. *Sigh.*
P.S. Don’t mind my un-makeuped face – I got a sty from the stress and didn’t want to irritate it. Fun times.

That is horrible!! Does he know he screwed up your dress and had to get a new one? I hope he didn’t make you pay for the alterations.
But your new dress looks amazing on you!

You look stunning in the new dress!!! So sorry about what happened though, you sound as though you are being very graceful about it all — I am not sure I could handle myself like that!

Sorry to hear about what happened to your old dress – not something you should have to deal with so close to your wedding!
However, I will echo PPs and say that you look STUNNING in your new dress!!!

Your new dress looks amazing! A similar thing happened to my sister’s wedding dress & she had to pick a dress off the rack in the end & it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! You look great!!!

That dress is gorgeous and you look amazing in it. Maybe it was meant to be.

You look beuatiful! How frustrating for you, but try to let it go! It’s good practice for marriage though, because that will throw you some curves eventually, too, and it appears you adjust well! 🙂

I’d be honest – Friend or not, he made a mistake, it cost you financially and emotionally – Be diplomatic about it and nice, but I would sugest telling him, it’s for his own benefit and he may compensate. – Other than that – YOUR DRESS IS STUUUUUUUUUUUNING and you look very pretty 🙂

Oh WOW, you look amazing!!! As PPs have said, I would tell the tailor that he messed up and ask him to compensate you for the new dress, or at least for the new dress’s alterations. Also, it might be too late to suggest this, but could you have the back of your old dress changed into a corset? I bought a dress that was too small on me and my seamstress gave it a corset back and it looks great!

My first thought was, Who cares?? YOU LOOK GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!
In fact, stunningly gorgeous. That dress looks like it was made for you.
What do you need help with as far as accessories go? I’m sure there are bees who would love to shop for you, or at least give you ideas!
