Just wanted to say that I too am a big fan of the 2nd dress π
It really is a wonderfull dress and looks amazing on u…I would wear it with a statement necklace.
Dont know if you checked on the blog, but there is this necklace that Mrs. Snapdragon wore and i was totally thinking about a necklace like that for your dress. Not exactly the same one, but something chuncky like that

@lunathea: That’s super pretty, but I’m leaning toward something a bit more relaxed with this dress. Not sure yet, though.
@gonnabeMrsHH: She wore a beauiful necklace! I’ve been told by a number of people to not do anything large as a necklace since it could compete with the detail of the dress – what do you think?

@Nikki1212: Aw, thanks! I’m glad that’s how it comes off. I was worried it didn’t look ‘bridal’ or that the neckline was too low. Everyone had all wonderful things to say and reassured me that it was indeed classy and much more ‘me’ than the other dress.
@vmec: Thank you π
I ended up feeling quite lovely and glamorous in it – definitely a better choice in the end.

the dress looks AMAZING on you, I like it way better than the ruined one.
anyway, I’d ask the tailor to compensate you, definitely. not for the new dress, but the cost of the old one, and he can keep it to do as he sees fit

Honestly I like your original dress better. Can’t you take it to a real seamstress and have a corset back put in? Getting a brand new dress would not have been my go-to response. I’m thinking that some part of you wasn’t happy with your original dress and you wanted to get a new one. They’re both lovely! But the first one is more bridal.

@Khlobee: Your enthusiasm made me smile – thanks very much! I found a really nice and quick-shipping seller on Etsy – these are the hair pins I bought (they come in a set of two):

@michiru4ever: I was devastated and panick-stricken – what bride wants to be without a dress so close to the wedding? I had actually brought the dress to two other seamstresses after the incident. One refused to even touch the dress since she wasn’t certain she could fix the issue, and the other couldn’t promise anything either. With only 3 weeks until the wedding I wasn’t going to take any chances.
My wedding was 7 months ago now and it all turned out well, despite the crazy ordeal.
Here are some photos of how the day-of look came together (more photos are also in my recaps posts):
