Were getting married in late September outside. I would like to catch the fall colors with some oranges and reds. Maybe something like orange, red, gold. But he insists on having green and I can’t come up with a fall scheme with green in it. I was orginally thinking green, purple and orange. But thats too busy. FYI he wants it to be a darker green as well. Anybody have any ideas on how to make this work.

You could go with a really nice olive green that would look great with orange and gold! David’s Bridal has some nice options for Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses in the Olive color. Men’s Wearhouse does matching vests for your groomsmen… and then you can bring the reds/oranges/golds in through the flowers and accessories!

We’re doing exactly what 7SEVENJ9 suggested. Going with Fern colored dresses from David’s, but EVERYTHING else, from the decor to the bouquets, is just dark fall colors – mainly plums and burgundys, but a touch of deep oranges, browns, etc. If, like him, you’d want a darker green for the dresses, I was originally looking at the Pure Jade color in the Jasmine lines of Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses – In person, it is super rich and would look AWESOME with fall colors. I don’t think more than one other “set” color would look too busy; just timely with the season. Our bouquets are going to be dark purple and dark red and I am SUPER excited about how they’ll look against the olive-hued green!!! When people ask what are colors are, I just tell them the wedidng party will be in green, but we’re using a ton of fall accent colors 🙂 Hope that helps! (And definitely keep in mind the Pure Jade – I loved it, but my original “vision” for the wedding was to use something more like the Fern.)

Maybe you could just use green touches, if you’re not into green. Maybe green ribbons on the bouquets or green laurel or ferns with your flowers. Hypercium berry and fern bouts? Green vases for your flowers, or green votive candles with other color flowers. Little touches of green will look fine with the other colors you have chosen. 🙂
