I was planning on a low, loose updo until my husband told me that he’d really like me to wear my hair down for the wedding. I was reluctant because I have a lot of hair, we were getting married outside, and I was worried about heat or wind. But other than food/drink/music, he had expressed so few opinions about the details of the wedding that I wanted to give him this one thing. I conpromised with half up/half down.

my fiance thinks hair looks fancier in a updo. We were actually discussing this last night. I really want to get extensions to add more volume to my hair and wear it in big sexy curly down.. but im now leaning towards half up. that way it will be out of my face.

Same thing here– I wanted to wear my hair up because it is easier and more secure, but my Fiance wants it down. The thing is– he is the only one I want to impress on my wedding day so if he wants it down I’m wearing it down. I even got extensions to surprise him with so I’ll have super long hair– yay!
I must say though, it is made a lot easier by the fact that I’m getting married in the middle of winter in Ohio and indoors. A beach makes it way harder. I’d be most concerned about the wind. half up might be a good option.

I was faced with the same dilemma, and I am going to be wearing my hair down. I like my hair up because I don’t have to worry about it, but my Fiance loves my hair down. He says my hair is the first thing he noticed about me. And, I want him to think I look the most beautiful ever. So, my hair will be down.
I did my original hair trial with it up, but then down for my bridal portraits, and I actually like it down better. My Fiance is on to something! But, like Corgitales, I am getting married inside in February, so it’s not that big of an issue.

My FH had the same request, but I think it’s because when he thinks of my hair up it is when I don’t have time in the morning and I just throw it up in a ponytail. I decided to go with a loose updo with some curls coming down. Something like the picture.

That’s exactly the look I was going to go for before he mentioned this!
I like that your hairdresser is going to pin your curls so they stay in place – I might have to try that, too!
Thanks for all the help ladies!! I decided I’m going to splurge and do a hair trial the day before our wedding (since I won’t be meeting my hairdresser before then) so that I can see if I’ll be able to manage to have my hair half up/half down, without it getting tangled or having all the curls fall out.

I have the same dilemma as to whether or not I should wear my hair up or down for my destination beach wedding. I want to wear my hair down because it looks amazing with the veil but I’m afriad the curls will fall out and get frizzy and the wind will blow my hair in my face, which doesn’t make for great photos. I contacted our photographer and his wife responded saying that you should wear your hair the way you want but it’s more practical to wear your hair up. She also went on to say that she was in a wedding last year and had her hair up and had no issues and the bride wore her hair down and the style fell out in 30 minutes and 50% of the photos taken had to be deleted because of her hair in her face from the wind…so for me, that’s all I needed to hear…updo it is.
