It’s a nice gesture, but you can’t turn back time. The memories you have now of your proposal ARE your real proposal memories! FI proposed twice and I still consider the first time my real proposal. Maybe it’s different for everyone but to me, every person gets one “first”, per relationship.

Edit : Forgot to add that FI’s first proposal wasn’t exactly grand or romantic, either. He blurted it out when we were eating Pizza Hut. :p It’s romantic because he asked me to be his wife.

PositiveThinking:  I think it’s a nice guesture, and like you said not required. If he really wants to do it I wouldn’t stop him though, what’s the harm?

PositiveThinking:  Sounds like the original proposal is still bothering your husband, if he is the one that brought up re-proposing. I’m in the ‘what would it hurt’ mindset – he gets the satisfaction of planning a proposal, at the very least you get new happy memories together, to add to the ones you had before.

PositiveThinking:  I think it’s sensitive of you to think of saving him time and effort :). He might enjoy planning another proposal. I’m sure he loves doing nice things for you!

Floofy:  You and your FI will always have Pizza Hut! LOL…..I actually love those kinds of stories. You guys should serve pizza at your wedding, it would be really sweet

PositiveThinking:  if it makes him happy what does it really hurt? I get saving him the hassle but if he wants to id let him. He will feel better about himself and you’ll have a new memory. ‘Remember when you insisted on reproposing to me before our first vow renewal?’
