No, you’re not being a nutjob at all.  All of your other guests don’t need to know all of that information.  If he’s that worried about it, go to Visaprint when they’re offering their 10 free invitations and make up a “reminder” with all the information he wants.  After the first free 10, they offer discounted pricing on any additional (depending on how many he wants to send out).

Seriously though, send out an email with all the dates.

Hmm interesting.  Obviously those STD would have to be for just the GM’s but it may not be an terrible idea if his friends are a bit un-organized.  Its certainely not traditional but might be helpful.   I know my FI thought it was ridiculous that we sent his GMs a STD because his point was that they obviously know when the wedding is and will be there.  So that’s why I’m thinking that might be helpful for them since they already know the date of the wedding.

However, I would not have the energy to make separate STD’s for one group

@SweetRose2011:  Hmmm, well I suppose you could use an Avery 5164 label, type everything out and stick one of those to the back of each one.  I’ve been in a lot of weddings and so has Fiance, and I’ve never run across this.  Usually an email will suffice (or general communication).

maybe introduce him to the idea of a bridal party newsletter? or compromise and put an insert (read: separate piece of paper) in the groomsmen’s STD envelopes?

You are not being a nut job!!!! Has he ever seen a save the date? Lol.

I love the idea that milesbella had about vistaprint— he can just have his own Groomsmen cards printed out for dirt cheap, and he can pick a more “manly” design for them.

Besides, won’t your rehearsal dinner be the night before the wedding? That shouldn’t be hard for the guys to forget!! Lol.

Haha. Oh boys. Sometimes you just gotta say no. I agree with you on the making a separate print out of special dates for them!

@SweetRose2011: Oh I guess thats not so bad.  Only they will see it, if they flip it over, haha.  And they are boys, they wont care if its normal, proper or right.

Eh, I don’t find it to be a big deal to write it on just the groomsmens STD’s.

I dunno, doesn’t seem worth it to fight about, I would probably just write it on the back – or better yet, let HIM right it on the back.  I’m sure there will be a better place for you do put your foot done.  Although, I don’t see why he can’t just email them the dates. lol

I don’t really see what the big deal is.  Why not let him add a note or a separate insert into the Save-The-Date Cards for the Groomsmen so they have the other dates they need to “save” too?  It’s not like he wants to send that info to all guests.
