@daniellemc  I’m in the Northeast of the US and we are doing a sweetheart table.

Every time I’ve been a Bridesmaid or Best Man I’ve sat at a head table.

@daniellemc  Southern California here. My best friend got married a few years ago and had a head table. I hated it (I was MOH) as my Fiance – BF at the time – was by himself with a bunch of people he didn’t know that well and I felt that the head table isn’t really conducive to socializing with the rest of the bridal party anyway. My dad and his wife got married two years ago and had a sweetheart table which was really nice and cute and gave them some alone time.

Our venue has the option for a sweetheart table or we could actually sit at one of the main long tables but Fiance is a social butterfly and a chatterbox and I do actually want some alone time with him lol.

@daniellemc  I live in LA and we are doing a sweetheart table. I feel like it just leaves more room for people to sit with people they want to sit with and for us to have a tiny bit of “us time”. And honestly, it’s just for dinner so I will be bale to hang out with everyone again in an hour.

UK here, and top (head) tables are pretty much universal. From being involved professionally in about 400 weddings, I think I’ve only ever seen one sweetheart table, around half a dozen “couple and each set of parents hosting their own tables” and the rest were top tables.

Most weddings I’ve been to recently do a head table, but we did a sweetheart, so that our bridal party could sit with guests who were also coming to the wedding.

@princesserbear  I liked that it gave us some time to chit chat, too. We talked about our honeymoon plans.

@daniellemc  I am from Chicago my FH is from Milwaukee and we are having our wedding in the NW suburb of Chicago.  It will be European style and Europeans don’t do headtables, just sweethears, but I have been to a few weddings in the past year all in the Chicago area and I would say it has been 50/50.  I like the idea of just being there with my husband and I like knowing that our bridal party will be able to sit with their families or SO’s.

I’m from NW Pennsylvania and most weddings I’ve been to have had a head table. We are doing a limited head table- it will be the two of us with our best man and Maid/Matron of Honor on either side of us with their dates next to them. So six people (and possibly MOH’s baby if she brings him). I’ve never heard of anyone doing this before, but I’m sure we’re not the first ever.

I’m in the midwest.  All the weddings I’ve been to had a head table.  We aren’t doing either and are sitting with our families (all parents + us at one table) and our bridal party will be sitting with their dates wherever they’d be sitting if they weren’t in the bridal party.

The only wedding I’ve been to as an adult had a sweetheart table (I live in TX). I think it’s less about the region, though, and more about what’s trendy.
