Darling Husband and I are headed to St Louis for the weekend for a sunday AM wedding. We have all day saturday and sunday evening to enjoy the city. Any food (pescatarian) recommendations adn things to do? We are staying at Crown Plaza Hotel Downtown. We wont have a car but love to walk and wouldnt mind a short cab ride.

Things to do:
- The Arch (if you’re not claustrophobic or afraid of heights)
- The City Museum is AWESOME! It’s not really a museum, it’s more like a giant playground for all ages (slides, caves, things to climb on, ball pit, etc.) made out of all kinds of random recycled materials like old bridges and abandoned planes.
- Forest Park – it has the zoo, the science center, and the art museum – all of which are free! It also has a nice restaurant called the Boathouse, and you can rent paddleboats and go out on the lake.
- Imo’s pizza (I’m not a huge fan, but it’s a quintessential St. Louis food, lol)
- Toasted ravioli (with cheese filling, since you’re pescetarian)
- Ted Drewes frozen custard… amazing!
I lived in STL for four years 🙂

@Regina Phalange: awesome! thank you so much!! those all sound really fun. I sent your list to Darling Husband. I dont see either of those resturants working though, I forgot to mention Darling Husband is gluten intollerant (I know, we are super crazy picky eaters LOL). The custard we can do though! 😀
any seafood resturants you recommend?

@bestbuddies: Haha, no worries! My SO and I are pescetarian too 🙂
Broadway Oyster Bar has great seafood! http://www.broadwayoysterbar.com
My SO’s actually from St. Louis, and he’s begging me to add “go to a Cardinals game!” to this list, haha.
ETA: Anheuser-Busch brewery tour is another cool thing to do. You get free beer (or soda – idk if beer is gluten free) at the end of it too 🙂

@Regina Phalange: awesome! thanks. I have actually been to several cardinals games. My dad is a HUGE cardinals fan. I have been to st louis several times but only gone to games. you can tell your SO that my family is huge cardinals fans, that should make him happy! Oh, and my dad and step mom do that tour once a year too. lol. that would suck for Darling Husband though because he cant have beer and I dont like beer. but it would be fun for most people probably! thanks again.
@elysion: thanks! I dont really like zoos though. I love animals and they make me sad….I want to steal them and take them back to their homes LOL

DO NOT go to IMO’s pizza- it is GROSS. I love pizza and this just ruined it. Where you do have to eat is Ted Drewes. I hear it is the best frozen custard- sadly, it was closed when I was there.
We were there last year for a wedding. The Arch was fun! We didn’t make it to the city museum but I heard it was great.

@bestbuddies: I read your comment to SO and it put a big smile on his face!
My RA took our floor on the brewery tour when we were freshmen in college. He was the only one who was 21 and could legally drink, so the rest of us were kind of bummed with our Pepsi, haha.
Enjoy St. Louis!

I did a quick few days there a few summers ago, and I loved the brewery…but I love beer. The Arch was fun, and good for photo ops…when we were there it was flooded but the river was interesting…there’s one more place I’m forgetting. Oh, the zoo. I thought it would be a great time, but we kept seeing fights break out..at the ZOO??? Weird
