sexymama118 :  I’m in healthcare (also an OT) but work in a school district.  I definitely went with a smaller ring, but I think that’s more personality based than job-based.  Still, I do remember how ostentatious I thought the rings were on the therapists who I did fieldwork with – it was like an in-hospital competition for biggest rock and they just got in the way all the time.  They had a tendency to flip them so the stone was on the palm before putting gloves on and it seems to work well.  I think it’s easier to have something that won’t accidentally damage someone though, in that job line.

In my unit we’re not allowed to wear jewelry at all for infection control from the elbows down. I double safety pin my rings to my top and so do a lot of my coworkers. Some bring a box to put them in and others just leave them at home.Β

I’m a physical therapist and works in pediatrics and the NICU. We are only allowed to wear rings without stones.  When I was engaged before and worked in orthopedics, I did wear my ring, which was an oval halo.

This is my current ring.  Once I get married I’ll wear a plain gold band.

amandajane4949 :  Ring twins!

I’m a resident and I wear mine to work. If I’m doing a procedure, I slip it into my necklace chain, but otherwise I wash my hands with it on, and put on gloves over it for quick exams.

I am an EMT and getting engaged soon. I plan on wearing a silcone band on the ambulance. Not necessarily safe to draw attention to myself on certain types of calls and I don’t want to get it dirty or scratch my patients.

I’m an OT tech and will be going to OT school this fall. I wear mine to work as a tech, but take it off whenever I wear gloves (doesn’t feel right under the glove) or when I’m working with kids because it can get so messy. Thinking of transitioning to just wearing my half eternity rose gold band after wedding. I also bought an enso silicone ring for anatomy labs/clinical school work once I get there.
