I’m hoping since it’s been a month you’ve solved your dilemna. If you haven’t, hopefully you will soon – this has gotta be stressful! That said, I’m not an expert on health insurance (but have had my own headaches from it) and don’t live in Illinois. Is it possible to call your husband’s insurance company and talk to someone there? They may be able to spell things out a little bit better. I know my partner’s insurance has a huge book that explains eveyrthing and they sent him a copy when he asked and we’ve paged through it. I know my old insurance would have covered pregnancy from day one – it covered everything, including pre-existing conditions (why I needed the insruance!), from day one if I had insurance already. If I ddin’t have insurance, I’d have to wait 365 days. My understanding (and again – so not an expert and don’t live in Illinois!) is that state coverage WOULD cover you, especially if you look into WIC.
