I also love beef jerky, but finding good quality stuff is pricey!

I have to store my lunch in my desk a lot of times, and had quite a bit of morning (really, all day) sickness until about 20 weeks…I got a really good lunchbox and used ice packs. For a typical lunch while I had morning sickness I brought
*peanut butter sandwich (sometimes two!) on whole wheat
*baggie of whole wheat crackers
*String cheese or baby bel cheese
*raw veggies w/ something for dunking (peanut butter, cream cheese, hummus, etc)
*Greek yogurt
*Cut up fruit
*Bars of some sort… NutraGrain, Lara Bars, Luna Bars, Fiber One, etc. Not the best thing in terms of sugar content, but they helped me get a protein boost with carbohydrates to calm my stomach.
I agree with the others who suggested just getting your deli sandwiches toasted, like at subway, which heats the meat. I’ve done that throughout my pregnancy. Also agree with PB&J sandwiches, those are good and filling too. Also, peanuts/almonds as a snack (I like to get roasted, unsalted nuts), fiber bars (Trader Joes has great fiberful bars), baby carrots, clementines, apples, rice cakes, etc. Also, if you are on the go, you could look into buying green smoothies while you are out like the bolton farms or naked juice ones, they pack a lot of nutrients in and taste basically like fruit punch. Or you could make your own at home in the blender and take it in a thermal cup. 🙂 Great way to get fruits and veggies!
The only problem with PB sandwhiches is that I have a mild allergy to Peanuts. Not something to play with during pregnancy :/ I’m actually heading out to target now to pickup something called sunbutter.. PB substitute made from sunflowers. Wish me luck and thanks again!
I am in the same situation of you. I eat on the road every day. Now that deli sandwiches are out, I’ve had to adapt. People have already offered great suggestions but I’ll add a couple.
I love bagle sandwiches with simply cheddar cheese and mustard. It’s pretty cold where I live so the cheese keeps nicely in the car. I also enjoy bringing a small container of granola and mixing it with a yoghurt cup. It’s hard to spoon feed and drive, but I manage. Tuna and egg salad sandwiches are also on my lunch menu these days. Just pack an ice pack in your lunch pail!
Just tagging this for reference. Thanks for the ideas, Bees!
