It is now so real.
Husband looked like he was about to cry and he told me he loved me, he was probably the happiest I have ever seen him.
Doctor said it was 130.
I am happy, but terrified!!! “Like Holy ****, there is really a baby in there!!!” I am beside myself still.
How did you feel when you heard the heartbeat?

It was pretty amazing. We had to have a u/s at 6 weeks, so we didn’t know if we’d be able to hear it or not, but we could and it was awesome. Made everything extra real.

Isn’t it an awesome sound?
We had seen the heartbeat on the ultrasound two weeks before we heard it, and Darling Husband and I both cried (this pregnancy was a long, hard time coming). So when we went in for my next prenatatl with the doppler, Darling Husband was convinced that it wouldn’t affect him at all (since we’d already SEEN it) and he was some big macho man who was immune to it now.
Well when the sound of the heartbeat filled the room, my eyes filled, but when I looked over at Darling Husband, he had tears streaming down his face, lol.

That’s wonderful. So glad you and the baby are doing well. It’s amazing to be able to hear your little one. I hear her for the 1st time at 6 weeks. It started to make the pregnancy very real and it’s just the most humbling experience that there is a little person inside you and you are really a mom.

I don’t remember how I felt hearing it with my first baby, isn’t that awful? I did get excited seeing the heartbeat on the ultrasound monitor though. You think the heartbeat is cute wait until hiccups!

@KatyElle: I do the ultrasound next monday. So, I am not sure how I will feel when I actually see the baby. Hopefully not terrified again haha.

I heard my baby’s heartbeat on Friday… it was so unreal. But it made things more real, for sure! I didn’t cry, but heart melted. It was so tiny but so fast! 165 beats per minute. After the appointment, I kept imimtating the sound to myself (my husband couldn’t be there so I had to be able to re-create it for him, he he). But wow – so amazing. For so long I have been in disbelief that there is a life inside me, and I half expected that the doc wouldn’t find one and say “Oh – you’re not pregnant after all!” which would be awful!!!! But nope, it’s real! 🙂
